5th position to N.L.I.U. at The Negotiation Challenge - 2010


A team comprising of Chetan Kanungo, Albin Thomas and Vinesh Chandel represented N.L.I.U. at The Negotiation Challenge - 2010 organized by the Leipzig School of Management, Germany, and stood at an honourable 5th position in the competition which had participation from internationally renowned law schools and management universities including Harvard Law School, Georgetown Law University and University of California Hastings. This was the first time that N.L.I.U. took part in the competition and was one of the only two Indian Universities which were a part of the competition with the other one being National Law School, Bangalore.

Presentation on International Taxation

International Taxation has been source of immense litigation in our country, apex court decisions such as the Azadi Bacahao Andolan Case, the Morgan Stanley Case and the Hutch-Vodafone Litigation has built the Indian jurisprudence pertaining to International Taxation. Hence, as an endeavour to assist and guide the students towards a deeper understanding of the core-root issues pertaining to this field , the Center for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL) arranged for a presentation on the "Basics of International Taxation" by Mr Dhruv Sanghavi, Associate, Vaish Law Associates (International Taxation Team). The lecture dealt with the basics of International Taxation so as to make the students understand the crux of the subject.
It was an extensive two-part lecture series that was kept interactive in nature by Mr Sanghavi, and ended on a sincere vote of thanks by Aditya Bhattacharya and Deeksha Manchanda of the Centre of Commercial and Business Laws, N.L.I.U.
